Safety Glass

Protection You Can Trust

When it comes to glazed areas in your home or workplace, safety is just as important as style. Ordinary glass can break into large, sharp shards that cause serious injuries. Safety glass is specially designed to reduce that risk — either by holding together when broken or by breaking into smaller, less dangerous pieces. This means you can enjoy all the benefits of natural light and modern design, without compromising on safety.

At Invicta Glass, we supply only high-quality safety glass that meets or exceeds UK and European standards. Whether you’re fitting out a bathroom or installing partitions in an office, we’ll make sure the right type of safety glass is used for your project. Our goal is simple: to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your glass is strong, compliant, and built to last.

What Is Safety Glass?

Standard glass (annealed) can fracture into large, sharp shards that pose serious risk of injury. Safety glass, on the other hand, either breaks more safely or holds itself together to reduce danger. At Invicta Glass, our safety glass is manufactured to meet strict UK and European standards — so you can have peace of mind.

In technical terms:

• Safety glazing is required in critical locations (doors, low windows, wet areas) as defined in UK Building Regulations (e.g. AD K).
• Safety glass is permanently marked during manufacture to show compliance (EN 12600, BS EN 12150, BS EN 1449 etc.).

Built for Safety, Made for You.

Tell us where you want safety glass fitted (doors, windows, balustrades etc.), and we’ll help you spec the right type — then supply it cut-to-size, ready for installation.

Where Safety Glass Is Needed?

Essential Protection

Safety glass is not just a luxury — in many cases it’s legally required. Here are common areas where safety glazing should be installed:

Doors

Safety glazing is required in doors and side panels to prevent injury in busy areas.

Low-Level Windows

Any glass under 800 mm must be safety glass unless it’s protected by a barrier.

Bathrooms

Shower screens and bath enclosures need safety glass to reduce slip and impact risks.

Barriers

From stairs to balconies, toughened or laminated glass provides safe, strong protection.
